- The Confidence Reconcilliation: Trusting the Expert You Already Are - Cara Kirsch, Ignite & The Kirsch Group

Cara Kirsch, The Kirsch Group

Cara Kirsch

Cara Kirsch is a national speaker, entrepreneur, and recognized voice on leadership, workplace culture, and the future of employee benefits. As the CEO and Founder of The Kirsch Group, an independent employee benefits brokerage based in Omaha, Nebraska, she brings more than three decades of industry experience to the stage, translating the complexity of healthcare and benefits into clear, actionable insight that audiences can put to work the moment they leave the room.

Known for her candor and approachable style, Cara speaks to organizations and leadership audiences about navigating complex healthcare systems, designing strategic and value-driven benefits programs, and building cultures where both business goals and people thrive. Her sessions draw on real-world experience advising employers of all sizes, from growing businesses to large, multi-state organizations, with deep expertise in self-funded health plans, managed care, data analytics, and cost-containment strategies. She is celebrated for bringing clarity and transparency to an often-confusing space and for helping leaders make informed decisions with confidence.

A passionate champion for women in business and leadership, Cara is the founder of Ignite Women in Business and host of the Ignite Podcast, platforms designed to elevate, connect, and empower women across industries. Through her keynotes, panels, and podcast conversations, she shares a message rooted in trust, education, and partnership, encouraging leaders to build more intentional strategies that strengthen organizational performance while supporting the people behind it.

Before founding The Kirsch Group, Cara held roles including Area Vice President at Gallagher and Vice President at SilverStone Group (now HUB), where she led strategic benefits consulting initiatives and worked closely with executive teams to align benefits with company culture, budget, and long-term objectives. Whether she is addressing a conference audience, a corporate leadership team, or a room of emerging women leaders, Cara brings clarity, energy, and a practical perspective that helps people make smarter decisions and lead with greater confidence.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  1. Identify their own imposter syndrome triggers through a live self-audit exercise, and name the internal narratives that surface most often in their day-to-day work.
  2. Distinguish accurate self-assessment from distorted self-doubt by "reconciling" perceived shortcomings against real evidence of their competence, using a guided worksheet.
  3. Reframe common triggers such as new roles, visible mistakes, and public praise as signals of growth, then pressure-test those reframes in small-group discussion.
  4. Practice replacing self-critical dialogue with accurate, self-compassionate responses through a partnered role-play scenario.
  5. Leave with a personal "confidence reconciliation" practice they commit to aloud, so self-doubt no longer dictates when they speak up, lead, or advance.

This session is available to registrants only.

- Move Over, Simba: 3 Lessons From the Leaders We've Been Overlooking - Dr. Kelsey Medeiros

Kelsey Mederios

Kelsey Mederios

Hi! I'm Kelsey! And I am here to champion women's rise to leadership and support them with the skills and confidence they need to "totally crush it."

I earned my PhD in Organizational Psychology at the University of Oklahoma in 2016. Since, I have been working as a business school professor, teaching thousands of undergraduate, MBA, and graduate students how to lead effectively.

In 2025, I earned my coaching certificate from IECL to provide women with another form of support as they pursue their leadership goals. And subsequently launched my online leadership development community + coaching program, Like a Leader!

On a safari in the African bush, a guide said something that stopped Kelsey in her tracks. The so-called "king of the jungle"? A terrible leader. But there's another animal, one you may not have even heard of, that offers a surprisingly powerful model for what great leadership actually looks like.

It was a small moment that sparked a much bigger realization: we've been looking at leadership through too narrow of a lens. For decades, the world has studied, celebrated, and rewarded how men lead. And in doing so, it's overlooked how women lead entirely.

What happens when we finally pay attention to how women lead? Not as a side conversation, but as a serious lens for rethinking what good leadership looks like for all of us?

After years of studying leadership, Kelsey turned her attention to women heads of state navigating one of the biggest global crises of our lifetime. What she found will change the way you think about what it takes to lead well, build stronger teams, and show up for the people counting on you.

Come ready to have your assumptions challenged. Leave ready to lead differently.
