- The Mental Skills Behind High Performance: Inside the Olympic Mindset - Stacy Gnacinski, Drake University
Stacy GnacinskiStacy Gnacinski

I have been a faculty member at Drake University since 2017, and have been involved with Bright College since 2021. My background is in health sciences broadly, and during my graduate education, I specialized in the study of human performance and sports psychology. I currently teach courses in the health sciences (Values & Ethics in Health Sciences, Statistics in Health Sciences) as well as a course called Behavioral and Sport Psychology. For Bright College, I am currently serving as a co-instructor for Dean's Hour, which focuses on skill development for optimized student learning. As a first-generation student, Drake University and Bright College are special to me as they prioritize and invest in the student experience for all students. In my professional life outside of the university, I maintain a private practice in mental performance consulting, with my largest appointment being with the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia. In my non-work time, I enjoy spending time with my rescue dog Jack as well as my friends and family, gardening, and following stand-up comedy.

- Move Over, Simba: 3 Lessons From the Leaders We've Been Overlooking - Dr. Kelsey Medeiros
Kelsey MederiosKelsey Mederios
Hi! I'm Kelsey! And I am here to champion women's rise to leadership and support them with the skills and confidence they need to "totally crush it."
I earned my PhD in Organizational Psychology at the University of Oklahoma in 2016. Since, I have been working as a business school professor, teaching thousands of undergraduate, MBA, and graduate students how to lead effectively.
In 2025, I earned my coaching certificate from IECL to provide women with another form of support as they pursue their leadership goals. And subsequently launched my online leadership development community + coaching program, Like a Leader!
It was a small moment that sparked a much bigger realization: we've been looking at leadership through too narrow of a lens. For decades, the world has studied, celebrated, and rewarded how men lead. And in doing so, it's overlooked how women lead entirely.
What happens when we finally pay attention to how women lead? Not as a side conversation, but as a serious lens for rethinking what good leadership looks like for all of us?
After years of studying leadership, Kelsey turned her attention to women heads of state navigating one of the biggest global crises of our lifetime. What she found will change the way you think about what it takes to lead well, build stronger teams, and show up for the people counting on you.
Come ready to have your assumptions challenged. Leave ready to lead differently.
