Audit & Accounting Associate

Hamilton Associates, PC is looking for a motivated, versatile individual who is interested in becoming a valuable member of our audit and accounting team. This position will focus predominantly on audit and assurance services, but has the possibility to include some tax preparation based on client and firm needs.

Examples of the candidate’s responsibilities include:

Accounting and Audit Services

  • Gain an understanding of firm audit policies and procedures related to assigned tasks.
  • Understand clients’ needs and expectations, through developing and maintaining an excellent working relationship with all levels of client staff to increase customer satisfaction and to strengthen client relationships.
  • Gain an understanding and assist in planning and performing multiple audit assignments in multiple industries.
  • Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
  • Execute solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, quality control standards and technology implementation procedures relative to individual client assignments.
  • Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, client confidentiality and personal conduct.

Tax Services

  • Tax compliance preparation of diverse tax returns in commercial and non-profit industries
  • Tax planning and research as needed for clients
  • Working closely with managers, partners and clients to deliver quality tax services

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA eligible or on track to become eligible
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and research skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment.
  • Travel to assigned client locations is required. Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations.
  • Ability to travel overnight as required by client’s needs. (less than 10%)
