In-House Accountant
General Agricultural Services, LLC is the operating entity for The Scully Estates, a family business enterprise engaged primarily in agricultural land ownership in Nebraska for more than 150 years. We are seeking a CPA, ideally with tax experience, to join our staff as in-house accountant with CFO and supervisory responsibilities.
The position of in-house accountant has historically been based in our main Beatrice, Nebraska, office and will work in close collaboration with our general manager, land managers, staff and owners. The Scully Estates encompasses business assets in multiple states and this position is involved in the oversight of all areas of asset management. Duties will include:
- General accounting and bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements
- Tax return preparation and coordination with our 3rd party accounting firm
- Payroll
- Banking
- Participation in strategic tax planning and business discussions
- Participation in estate planning and individual asset management
- Supervisory duties
