Doane University, located on 300 beautiful acres in Crete, Neb., has an opening for an accountant. We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join our Finance & Administration team in this newly created position.

The accountant’s key responsibilities include:

  • The redesign and transformation of accounting processes and systems.
  • Reconcile bank, investment, trusts, receivables, and liability to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile cash and investment accounts for the university.
  • Reconcile other receivables and liability accounts and determine proper accounting.
  • Manage endowment funds and investment activity.
  • Manage endowment software (fund-driver) for gifts, investment activity, and spending.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Plus 2-3 years’ experience in accounting procedures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
