Each year, the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants accepts the nomination of members for four special awards: the Public Service Award, the Distinguished Service to the Profession Award, the Outstanding Accounting Educator Award and the Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry Award.
These awards were created to honor and to show the Society’s appreciation of those members who have given unselfishly to their communities, to their businesses, and to the accounting profession or to academia.
Selection of the awards’ recipients is determined by a committee which consists of the current Society’s Chairman of the Board, Immediate Past Chairman of the Board and three persons appointed by the Chairman of the Board. Final approval is made by the Society’s Board of Directors.
Nominations should be received by October 31 and the awards will be presented in the following year at the Society’s Annual Meeting. It is at the discretion of the selection committee and the Board as to which, if any, awards will be presented each year. Nominations not selected will remain in an active file for at least three years.
Everyday Nebraska CPAs are performing many unheralded services for their community, for their profession and for Nebraska. Consider some of the outstanding Society members with whom you have been associated and make a nomination.
