Membership in the Society offers many
professional and personal benefits!
A Professional Staff. The Society’s four-person staff is committed to providing the best value for your membership, while helping you meet the challenges and seize the opportunities within the CPA profession.
Improving Your Self. To support members’ professional growth, the Society provides approximately 80 courses each year. These courses and conferences encompass the various needs of CPAs in public practice, industry, education and government. Society members pay lower, discounted fees to attend Society CPE courses. Keeping abreast of changes in the profession gives members a competitive edge!
Keeping Informed. Members receive a monthly newsletter which provides the latest news and information about Nebraska Society and professional activities, technical articles and news about fellow Nebraska CPAs. It’s also an opportunity to advertise your employment opportunities at a very low rate and reach over 2,650 CPAs. Also, you can also find a wealth of information on our website at www.nescpa.org.
Life Insurance. Affordable group life insurance, offered through the American Institute of CPAs Insurance Trust, is a real bargain for members. The net premium for this life insurance coverage is more than competitive compared with other life insurance available.
Networking With People. Despite the rise in use of email and Web technologies for communicating with others, face-to-face interaction is not yet extinct, thanks to your Society. While we’re strong advocates of technological advancement, the Society serves as your primary link to colleagues, allowing you to put names with faces, keeping you in touch with who's doing what and helping you develop your leadership skills.
Scholarships For Future CPAs. In 2014, the Society's Foundation contributed over $98,000 in grants and scholarships to 14 Nebraska colleges and universities to encourage future accountants to join the CPA profession.
Your Voice. State and federal governments affect all CPAs. The Society has three registered lobbyists who keep in constant touch with state legislators, the Executive Branch and the Nebraska congressional delegation concerning legislation affecting the profession and Nebraska business.
