General Sales Tax Update: This course covers Nebraska sales and use tax as it applies to landscapers. You will benefit from this course if you have retail sales, perform construction services, taxable and nontaxable services, or handle bookkeeping for landscapers. If you ever need to hire a contractor, this course will explain to customers what forms need to be completed and how the invoice they receive should look. The presentation will cover licensing requirements, contractor registration, contractor options, exemptions, reporting, and taxable services. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers. The Nebraska Advantage Economic Incentives Programs: Since 1987, companies, in and outside of Nebraska, have been encouraged to create jobs and invest in Nebraska through incentives offered by LB775 and the Nebraska Advantage Act, the state's primary economic development tools. Under these state incentives passed by the Nebraska Legislature over recent decades, businesses can qualify for a variety of tax benefits, including a refund of sales tax - both state and local - paid on qualified capital purchases and credits on new investment and employee growth.
To understand the economic incentives programs in Nebraska, including eligible locations, eligible taxpayers, qualifying businesses, use of tax credits, factors in selecting a program, full-time equivalent employee calculations, carryover period and the application process.
This course is an update highlighting the history of the “Nebraska Advantage” economic incentives program in Nebraska and will cover the Nebraska Advantage Act, the Nebraska Advantage Rural Development Act, the Nebraska Advantage Microenterprise Tax Credit Act and other incentives available to companies wanting to expand their businesses.
